Tudor Fire surround
During some renovations a small fireplace opening was discovered, it
had been partially bricked up and unused for some time, the client
required a surround to fit the opening.
Finding and using an authentic
Tudor surround for this purpose was the first preference but after much
fruitless searching. the client decided the only option was to have a
reproduction surround made.
Copying an original design is relatively easy enough, making it look
over 400 years old and able to assume its own genuine persona within the
property is the real challenge..
The revealed opening.
Carving the new
stone surround on the banker.
New stone aging
Sections completed and
aged ready for fitting.
The new surround, made
to an original design, distressed, aged and fitted in place.
"From start to finish we were
both extremely impressed by the service that Peter gave us. The design he
worked from, which we provided him with, was very specific and our requirements
were individual to our needs. In return, Peter not only managed to produce the
fireplace we wished for, but exceeded our expectations for both what he
produced, and for the service he provided. We could not recommend his services
Thank you again Peter
